"Explorations: Expressing Grief in Words, Form and Music"

Hospice of Larimer County (HLC) is offering a two-day grief and bereavement support retreat entitled "Explorations: Expressing Grief in Words, Form and Music" on Friday and Saturday, May 16 & 17 at the Tamasag Retreat Center in Bellvue, CO.

The "Explorations" retreat is designed for adults who are grieving the death of a loved one. Participants will have the opportunity to express their grief and explore their losses through writing, art, and music. The retreat schedule will include a variety of exercises for attendees to experience as opportunities for reflection, insight and expression.

Sessions and exercises will be led by creative writer and poet Veronica Patterson, MFA, EdD; Nancy Jakobsson, MSW, LCSW and Director of the Pathways: Programs for Grief and Loss at HLC; Judy Bejarano, MFA and Artistic Director of Impact Dance Company; music therapist Laura Beer, MA, ACMT, NRMT; and Margaret Hartsook, MA and art therapist at HLC.

The fee for attending Explorations including lunch both days, snacks, small and large group sessions, and materials is $95 per person. Space is limited to 24 participants and the registration deadline is May 8. Call (970) 663-3500 for information and registration materials.

Join us Sunday, June 22 for an evening of piano music and singing in support of Hospice of Larimer County and Respite Care. The Piano Soiree will be held in the elegant setting of Jay's Bistro in Fort Collins and will feature the music of Christy French, Ryan Marvel, Lexi Glossi, Shauna Southwick, Gary Rechnitz, Linda Schaefer, and Peter Falk. Each of these talented pianists and singers will perform their own unique style of music from classical, to jazz, to contemporary. The event includes gourmet food and music in the unique atmosphere of Jay's. A cash bar will be available.
