Medical Directors

Dr. David Allen Medical Director (Full-Time)

Dr. Allen is a longtime resident of Fort Collins and has more than 25 years of experience in Internal Medicine as owner/partner of Internal Medicine Associates. Dr. Allen is Board-certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

As full-time Medical Director for Hospice of Larimer County, Dr. Allen directs patient care with Drs. Joseph Lopez and James Danforth, who are also Board-certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

Our Medical Directors have direct patient contact in every setting in which we care for patients. They serve as a liaison between Hospice of Larimer County and a patient's primary care physician to insure continuity and quality of their care.

Dr. Allen, as the full-time Medical Director is also available to provide educational programs on the subjects of hospice and palliative care, advanced directives, and pain and symptom management.
