Hospice Care Center at McKee Position
Hospice of Larimer County maintains an inpatient
unit at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. This facility is called
the Hospice Care Center (HCC). HCC volunteers assist the staff and
are a critical part of the team that provides excellent care for
the patient.
Specific Responsibilities include:

Provide companionship for patients at the HCC.

Provide support and
service for families and caregivers.

Assist staff with patient care as assigned.

Answer telephones, route calls and take messages.

Assist with laundry.
-
Ensure that the Family Room is tidy and inviting;
make coffee.

Prepare admission packets.
-
Ensure supply closet is tidy and stocked.
-
Restock patient rooms with sheets, towels,
etc.

Administrative support including filing, updating
records, etc.
-
Special projects as assigned by HCC staff.
Time Commitment: Volunteers are asked to commit
to one day per week; 2:30 - 5:00 p.m.

1. Fill out and submit the Volunteer Application
Packet. You can either email it to Volunteers@hlchospice.org or
print it out and send it to: Hospice of Larimer County Attn: Volunteer

2. Your name will be put onto a registration
list for the next volunteer training. Trainings are offered twice
a year, in the spring and fall.
3. After you have completed the training, you
will be invited to meet with the volunteer services manager. During
this meeting, we will get to know you better.
4. You will be required to complete an OSHA and
Confidentiality self-study packet and post-quiz. Background checks
and drug tests are required for all volunteers working with patients
and families.
